Audi_Q3_small German carmakers Audi have announced that they will be hiking the price of the Q3 offering by 2% next month.

The Q3, which is one of Audi’s flagship SUV offerings from the Q series lineup, made its debut at the 2012 Auto Expo. Since then, this baby Q has had spectacular success, with 500 bookings in its initial phase of introduction in the Indian market. As per Audi sources till date a total of 1000 Q3s have been sold, with only limited numbers available in 2012. At present, the Audi Q3 is priced at Rs 26.21 lakh onwards for the base grade and Rs 31.49 lakh onwards for the high grade (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India stated, “Due to economic upheavals and rupee devaluation, we have increased the price by 1 to 2 percent on both the high grade and base grade version of Audi Q3 2.0 TDI. However, we are still confident of achieving our sales target of 8000 cars at the end of 2012 and Audi Q3 will contribute significantly towards achieving this target”.

Audi India also plans to expand its network to 25 dealerships by the end of 2012 from its existing number of 21.
