The CMA movement will also see a C30-successor, a compact two-door hatchback, as well as – wait for it – a larger, sportier coupé, not unlike the Concept Coupé. Whether it will be the much-touted C60 remains to be seen, but it will be an even sportier offering with enough excitement to rival a Polestar. This writer, personally, has rambled on about the need for a C60 simply because he wants to see one take shape.
On to Polestar now. With Volvo having taken over their performance partners, it’s only a matter of time before a souped-up version with over 300 PS in a compact car the size of large baggage becomes a reality. Volvo Auto India will also officially bring in Polestar models to India next year, including the blue-hot S60 with 350 PS.
There’s a lot more going on under wraps. Torslanda has been busy, as have the folks in Skövde and Ghent, with Chengdu also gearing up. They turned a sizeable profit this past financial year, and we haven’t even spoken of the innovations they’ve developed over the past couple of years. It’s looking good for the Swedes. It really is.
