The Volvo S60L has now received a Twin Engine plug-in hybrid drive-line.
Becoming the first locally manufactured premium plug-in hybrid in China, Volvo have revealed the China-exclusive S60L T6 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid model, pairing a T5-spec 2.0-litre turbo-petrol Drive-E with a 50-kW electric motor. The long-wheelbase sports luxury sedan will, as a result, deliver a peak 306 PS and 550 Nm of torque: 238 PS and 350 Nm from the engine and 68 PS and 200 Nm from the e-motor. The three driving modes – Pure, Hybrid and Power – allow a familiar three-cars-in-one experience. The S60L can traverse up to 53 km on pure electric power.
The demand for premium sedans and luxury saloons with more rear leg-room, especially for those who want to be chauffeur-driven The S60L T6 Twin Engine will be produced at Volvo’s Chengdu plant, and will go on sale in China soon. Volvo also have the S80L as a China-exclusive model, as is with the market demand and offerings from global competitors.
The S60 Inscription, another long wheelbase version, was shown at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.
