Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) India have launched the new Camry and Camry Hybrid from Rs 28.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new car brings in a heavily revised, more contemporary front-end design, which combines HID projector headlamps, LED daytime lights and a new front air-dam and many dashes of chrome, adding both contrast and bling. The rear gets a new LED light cluster and a revised lower bumper.
The changes extend to the interior as well with a new 4.2” full-colour TFT display positioned between the meter console. A new touchscreen infotainment system sits in the centre console, which also integrates the reverse parking camera. The rear seats offer a recline function and also incorporate a variety of controls literally at the fingertips of rear-seat occupants. The cabin also benefits from the inclusion of the nanoe Ion Generator, which helps in maintaining freshness. The Camry also has better NVH levels, thanks to more focus and reworked suspension.
While the Camry continues with the 2.5-litre petrol four-pot with 160 PS and 213 Nm, the Hybrid gets additional support from the 105-kW (143 PS) electric motor, with an eCVT driving the front wheels. The combined peak output is 205 PS, and although peak torque isn’t disclosed, we can assure you it’s a lot. How? Because we’ve driven it.
