If you are a Škoda fan and want to get a sneak peak into what the brand’s next generation of cars will look like, here’s your answer. Škoda have raised the curtains on its brand new VisionC Concept at the Geneva Motor Show, and what’s more , this concept is also the Czech marque’s first coupé style design.
Speaking about the process behind the development of this concept, Škoda CEO Dr. Winfried Vahland said, “ Škoda is on the move, The VisionD, just three years ago, was the starting point and design milestone for our model offensive. With Škoda VisionC Škoda‘s model and design development of recent years has entered a new stage. Greater priority is being placed on design, proving the emotional charisma and power of the Škoda brand.”
“Škoda VisionC shows off the company‘s outstanding design and engineering skills while highlighting the dynamism and importance of one of the longest-established vehicle brands. Over the coming years we intend to grow with the launch of ever more sophisticated cars and consolidate our position as an international high-volume manufacturer,” He added.
The VisionC boasts of certain design elements that set it apart from the throng, these include the 19” wheels, C shaped lights (giving a whole new meaning to VisionC moniker!) and ‘invisible’ door handles. Under the hood, the VisionC is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI engine petrol engine and an 81 kW CNG powerplant as well. All this mated to an all-new, ‘close-to-production’ drive system.
Whether the VisionC does undergo the transformation from concept to production ready vehicle remains to be seen. For now though, it still has enough intriguing elements to pique the curiosity of any automobile enthusiast.
