“We admit the Safari is looking a little tired,” said Tata Motors MD Prakash Telang. “You will see a refreshed Safari by October this year.” That’s good news indeed for the fans of the Tata SUV, which, though it has seen new engines and the odd tweaks to its interior, has soldiered on for over a decade.
We haven’t any details on what the facelift will be like, but then the template for an SUV allows for the usual changes to headlights and tail-lamps without any major mods to the chassis and drivetrain. Hopefully, it will be a comprehensive refresh, with a new dashboard as well, but we will have to wait until Diwali before we get a comprehensive look at the new Safari.
Given the fact that Tata are currently offering attractive prices on their existing range of models, this could well be an indication of a heavily revised model coming out soon.
