The car will be showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo
The Palio doesn’t seem to be doing too well for FIAT in India. With sales figures of around 300 units per month, many feel that the hatch which was launched more than eight years ago is dying a slow death. However, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel for the Italian giant is all set to roll out a revamped version of the Palio (already on sale in countries like Brazil) here.
The car, to be displayed at the 2010 Auto Expo in New Delhi, will get a refreshed styling along with updated interiors and a change of heart too – possibly the BS-IV complaint 1.2-litre engine from the Punto. The company will be looking at pricing the new Palio very competitively, possibly under Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model.
