The Cayenne has been one of the most successful models in the Porsche lineup not just here in India, but globally as well. The face-lifted 2015 Cayenne made its first appearance at the Paris Motor show in October this year and is now available at a starting price of Rs 1.02 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Available on offer are four variants: Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Diesel, Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo priced at Rs 1.02, Rs 1.18, Rs 1.16 and Rs 1.74 crores respectively.
The new car is sharper and borrows cues from the Macan SUV, particularly towards the front. This includes a triple-slate grille flanked by Macan inspired headlamps which also house the DRLs and Bi-Xenon headlamps. The rear end is also reworked to a sharper stance in addition to smoked tail lamps. The interiors get a more driver centric makeover in terms of a 918 inspired multi-function steering wheel and crescent shaped anodized Aluminium shift paddles. Standard features include Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Entry and Drive, four-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of performance upgrades, the new Cayenne is more efficient and employs first-in-class active cooling air flaps on the Turbo version. The electronics package now also includes a coasting function and an advanced auto start-stop function (except Diesel variants). The petrol power-plant churns out 420 PS and 550 Nm of torque from the 3.6-litre V6 which replaces the V8. The top end Turbo retains the massive 4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 and belts out 520 PS power and a twist of 750 Nm. The diesel variant is powered by 3.0-litre V6 and tuned to produce 245 PS power and 550 Nm torque. However, the S Diesel is powered 4.2-litre V8 and belts out a whopping 385 PS of power and staggering 850 Nm of torque.
The Cayenne is available at the 8 outlets across the country and will be brought via the CBU route to India.
