Volkswagen have launched the new Vento for the Indian market starting at Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The sedan now features an all-new 1.5-litre TDI diesel mill, available with a choice of a manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, along with the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.2-litre TSI petrol engines. The manual transmission models will continue to be offered in three different trim levels – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline – while the DSG models will now also have a Comfortline variant, apart from the Highline.
In line with the Polo facelift which took place a few days back, the new Vento also gets minor cosmetic changes and equipment additions. The sedan gets refreshed exteriors with the smart use of chrome, similar to the Polo. On the inside, the updated Vento gets the same styling treatment of the Polo, new three-spoke steering wheel, a piano-black finishing as well as audio and telephone controls. The new two-tone dashboard has also been re-worked and the centre console gets silver finishing in contrast to the black.
Volkswagen India have also priced the new Vento facelift very competitively in order to cash in on the festive season just around the corner.
The pricing, ex-showroom Mumbai, is as follows:
- Vento 1.6 MPI petrol (M/T): Rs 7.44 to Rs 8.87 lakh.
- Vento 1.2 TSI petrol (DSG A/T): Rs 9.35 to Rs 9.92 lakh
- Vento 1.5 TDI diesel (M/T): Rs 8.57 to Rs 9.90 lakh
- Vento 1.5 TDI diesel (DSG A/T): Rs 10.49 to Rs 10.94 lakh
