The French car makers are all set to launch the new Renault Duster in India on 9 July.
The new Renault Duster is likely to be available with the current 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol with the diesel option still remaining a question mark. The 1.5-litre petrol makes 106 PS and 142 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine with 110 PS and 248 Nm may be offered but it’s not certain at this point. The petrol variants will continue to be offered with either a five-speed manual or CVT, whereas the diesel motor will be offered with a six-speed manual or an automatic.
The updates on the new Renault Duster that are visible in the teaser image are new projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and a redesigned front grille. The Duster is expected to get more upgrades such as new roof rails and cladding on the tail-gate as well as new alloy wheels. The new Duster is also seen sporting a new shade of blue.
The interior will feature a new advanced infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Standard safety features on all variants include dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, parking sensors and high speed warning.
The 1.5-litre K9K diesel, if offered, is likely to be discontinued once the BS-VI emission norms come into effect. Although, Renault are believed to be reworking the engine to make it BS-VI compliant. The current Renault Duster is being offered between Rs 8 lakh and 13 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Duster is likely to be priced at a slight premium over the current model. Renault will follow that up with the launch of the seven-seat Triber in India soon after.
