The new Macan R4 is now the most affordable Porsche available for sale in India, at a price of Rs. 76.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Following the recent series of bans on diesel engines above 2,000 cc, a number of leading manufacturers decided to introduce petrol engine variants of their popular models. Porsche have now launched their entry-level petrol Macan.
Under the hood the Macan R4 has a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine which produces 252 PS and 370 Nm of torque. The output is sent to all four wheels through Porsche’s seven-speed ‘PDK’ double-clutch automatic gearbox which when met with a right foot propels the Macan R4 to 100 km/h in a claimed 6.7 seconds and onto a top speed of 229 km/h.
The R4 joins the current line-up of the Macan that is sold in India after the S Diesel, Turbo and Turbo with Performance Package.
