Pagani, the exotic Italian car maker which makes Ferrari and Lamborghini seem mainstream, are known to be working on two more versions of their second model ever, the Huayra.
The Huayra, named after a wind god, is actually the more practical, less extreme model which came after the Zonda. Armed with an AMG twin-turbo V12 making 730 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque behind layers of luxury and exquisite, unmatched detail, the Huayra leaves nothing to be desired, except, maybe for a few hardcore enthusiasts, more power. Davide Testi, the man behind the wheel for Pagani tests and who has covered millions of miles behind some of the world’s most desired sets of wheels, has mentioned that Pagani are working on a more hardcore model of the Huayra.
This new Huayra will boast not just more power, but will also be stripped for weight reduction. AT this point, we don’t know if it will be a track-only model (like the Zonda R was) or a road-legal performance monster (like the Zonda 760RS which came as a result). Either way, we expect the boost to be turned up on the new Huayra and an output of around 800 PS, maybe more, with a whole lot more torque, probably as much as the gearbox can handle.
The other model in the works is a Roadster model, quite inevitable actually. The topless Huayra will be a fine addition to the range, and we can expect to see more development images of this forthcoming hypercar, expected to see the light of day in 2-3 years time.
The Pagani Huayra costs £849,000 (Rs 8.45 crore) in the UK before tax. The new model will be priced significantly higher without a shadow of a doubt, as it will be even more exclusive. If you like the car, appreciate the effort and attention that Pagani put into it, and have pockets deep enough to order one in India, complete with its nine-digit price-tag (upwards of Rs 20 crore, on road), we suggest you contact them now! The waiting list for one of these is quite something.
