Nissan India have officially launched the new Sunny.
The new version is based on the 10th generation model, and has received exterior as well as interior updates. The front-end receives a new grille, boomerang-shaped headlamps, new fog lamps and a redesigned bumper. Chrome highlights in the grille and bumper help give the car an identity that is different from the previous offering of the Sunny.
The rear-end also has been given a touch-up with black diffuser cladding, a flared bumper and a chrome garnish on the trunk. In terms of styling, the car has new ORVM-mounted indicators, chrome door sills and 12-spoke alloy wheels. The safety aspect of the car has also undergone several modifications. The Sunny now comes equipped with ABS with EBD and Brake Assist and a driver side airbag as standard across all variants.
The Sunny continues to use the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel from the previous generation. The power output has not changed, remaining at 99 PS and 86 PS respectively. The petrol variant continues to be offered in a choice of the five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission, while the diesel retains the five-speed manual ‘box. The Sunny is available in a choice of six colours. Prices start at Rs 6.99 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 7.99 lakh for the diesel version (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new models are on sale at Nissan dealerships throughout the country.
