The Aston Martin V12 Speedster has been confirmed for production in strictly limited numbers.
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster celebrates the automotive icon’s rich racing heritage combined with modern design language. Only 88 of the new V12 Speedsters are to be made and are said to make their global début later this year.
The design for the new Aston Martin V12 Speedster is inspired from the 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1 and the concept CC100 Speedster shown earlier this decade. The Aston Martin V12 Speedster, created by in-house bespoke service Q by Aston Martin working with the brand’s talented team of designers and engineers, combines a driver-oriented sports car with sharp, cutting-edge motor sport and aviation technology. This is what makes the Aston Martin V12 Speedster deliver as a stunning, two-seater, enthusiast driving machine.
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster promises high performance with a new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine capable of generating an output of 700 hp and 700 Nm. Naturally, the powertrain found in the Aston Martin V12 Speedster has an abundance of character, with the engine note and sound quality playing an important part in the driving experience delivered. The engine is mated to a ZF eight-speed transmission mounted towards the rear of the car.
The 88 enthusiast drivers and collectors who secure the keys to these cars can be confident that in doing so, they are also securing an iconic new piece of Aston Martin history, says the Lagonda President and Group CEO, Dr Andy Palmer. Orders are now being taken for the 88 Aston Martin V12 Speedsters being hand-built by the brand, with deliveries expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021.
