Jaguar have confirmed that they will build the F-Type Project 7!
The new car will debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which also happens to be the 60th anniversary year of the D-Type race car from which its design was inspired. The F-Type Project 7 will be the most exclusive F-Type, with just 250 units being hand-built by Jaguar-Land Rover’s Special Operations Team. It will also be their most powerful model.
The heart of the F-Type Project 7 will be a further boosted 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 575 PS and 680 Nm of torque. It only weighs 1,585 kg and that translates to a power-to-weight ratio of 363 PS/tonne! The company claims a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds. The most stand-out bits are the bespoke carbon-fibre front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and a rear spoiler. You also get a unique suspension setup together with carbon-ceramic brakes, torque vectoring via braking and, of course, racing seats.
Deliveries of the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 will commence from mid-2015.
