The third generation of Hyundai’s big SUV is out, with the popular auto-firm launching its all new Santa Fe at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. This Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine which gives out 197 PS @ 3800 RPM and torque figures of 420 Nm @ 1800-2500 RPM for the 6-speed manual and 436 Nm @ 1800-2500 RPM for the automatic.
In terms of aesthetics, the Santa Fe is based on Hyundai’s ‘Storm Edge’ design philosophy, and sports some rugged, aggressive lines that accentuates the toughness of this strapping SUV. In terms of safety, the car boasts of 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Brake Assist, and Vehicle Stability Management among others.
The Santa Fe also comes equipped with some cutting edge features like Cruise control, smart key, keyless entry, push button start/stop and rear sensors and camera for parking assistance. The Santa Fe is feature-packed on the inside too, with an all new ‘Flex Steer’ system allowing the driver to chose one of three different modes (comfort, normal, sport) based on his convenience. The car also has a 6 speaker ‘virtual orchestra’ set up mated to a 4.3” TFT LCD command console.
