Ford launched the Endeavour – sold abroad as the Everest – in India way back in 2003, and it has to date remained the company’s only model in the full size SUV segment. Though it has its followers, it has not been the kind of success the company would have liked to see. The company has been testing the new Everest – nee Endeavour – in recent months, and we were in Thailand to get a feel of this SUV.
At first glance, the Everest looks a lot more balanced in its proportions. The boxiness has become slightly rounded, enough to retain fans of the butch, in-your-face looks but also to now appeal to those who might like something more graceful. 20-inch alloys look impressive and with a ground clearance of 225 mm, water wading capability of 800 mm, and departure, ramp-over and approach angles of 25, 21 and 29 degrees respectively, the specifications sure look good on paper.
