Mercedes-Benz India have introduced two new exciting products in their own right – the E400 Cabriolet and the CLS250 CDI four-door coupé.
First up, the E-Class Cabriolet is one of the most stylish luxury convertibles in their portfolio and is the company’s first offering in India to wear the ‘400’ badge. The engine is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 direct-injection petrol making 333 PS and 480 Nm of torque. Paired to the 7G-Tronic automatic, this rear-wheel drive convertible is larger than the SLK350 and, with the SL-Class being absent from their Indian portfolio, will be the only 2+2 cabrio on offer. The E400 Cabriolet is priced at Rs 78.5 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The second-generation CLS-Class was thus far available only with the V6 petrol, with the twin-turbo V8 63 AMG model being pulled out of the list earlier. Now, the MBIL have introduced the 250 CDI variant which is not only just as stylish and desirable but also a more practical offering. With the 2.2-litre four-pot turbo-diesel making the same 204 PS and 500 Nm, the CLS250 CDI should deliver spirited performance and an economy figure which won’t make one cringe. Even more to that effect is the price: Rs 76.5 lakh (ex-Delhi).
The two cars were launched in Delhi by MBIL country head Eberhard Kern and will be available to order at dealerships around the country.
