Key Technology Additions in the new C-Class

EQ Boost
An electric-motor assist that supplements low-end power and delivers smoother and more immediate acceleration to compensate for the brief period taken to build up the revs and consequential turbo-lag. It is based on a 48-volt electrical system. That brings more advantages, including a gliding mode at triple-digit speeds with the engine switched off, and recuperative braking with intelligent engine stop when coasting. The start/stop system operates comfortably thanks to the belt-driven starter/alternator, as the engine restarts silently and quickly, with low vibrations. Even the water pump is electrically driven for more optimal need-based cooling performance.

LED High Performance Headlights

Tech LED High Performance Headlamps
The new generation of lighting not only looks extremely sharp, but also illuminates the way ahead very well. Several individual diodes are used to create the light pattern for the most efficient performance.

MultiBeam LED Headlights with Ultra Range High Beam

Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 9,3-9,1 l/100 km, CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 213-208 g/km // Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Sedan, designo hyacinth red metallic, AMG leather black. Fuel consumption combined: 9.3-9.1 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 213-208 g/km
The optional headlamp has even smarter lighting and offers high-beam illumination for up to 650 metres ahead; the maximum distance permissible by law.

Dynamic Body Control
The optional electronic suspension is equipped with continuous adjustable damping for the front and rear axles. The step-less system controls the damping characteristics individually for each wheel — interacting with the engine, transmission, and steering — to suit the driving situation, speed, road surface, and even load conditions. Three stages are available in Comfort, Sport and Sport+ drive modes. A sport suspension with stiffer springs, tauter ride, and a 15-mm lower ride height is offered as an option. A further option is Air Body Control air suspension.

Energizing Comfort Control

Tech Energizing Comfort Control
The optional wellness programme functions by linking the functions of the air-conditioning, fragrancing, seat heating or ventilation, as well as the ambient lighting, and musical moods. The aim is to have a positive effect on both well-being and driver performance. Up to six programmes are available — Freshness, Vitality, Warmth, Cosiness, Joy, and Training — each running for 10 minutes.

Linguatronic 2.0
Evolution of the system allows voice commands to be used for the air-conditioning, seat heating and ventilation, ambient lighting, reading lights, rear lighting, fragrancing, seat massage, head-up display, as well as the ability to request a wealth of information, including the next service date, current speed limit, remaining range, or even the date.

COMAND Online

Tech COMAND Online
The latest-generation COMAND Online, optional, yes, offers 3D hard-drive navigation with topographical map display, photo-realistic 3D buildings and 3D map rotations. Extensive additional information is displayed on the navigation map.

Mercedes me

Tech Mercedes me App
The Concierge service is available by subscription on the new Mercedes me App, allowing customers to have a host of individual services at their disposal. The optional digital key allows your mobile phone to function as a key using NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology. It can be used for locking and unlocking as well as remote starting. An optional Anti-Theft Alarm system even detects if the car has been damaged in its parking spot and sends a push notification to the App.

Tech Distronic

Active Distance Assist (Distronic)
Part of the Driving Assistance package, the new system is capable of supporting the driver in route-specific situations. For instance, it can optimally adjust the speed when approaching bends, junctions or roundabouts, based on data from other systems.

Active Brake Assist
Advanced autonomous braking comes to the C-Class. It helps mitigate or even prevent the consequences of rear-end collisions with slow-moving, stopping or stationary vehicles ahead, and even with crossing pedestrians and cyclists.

Active Lane Change Assist
An advanced sensor system allows lane changes between 80 km/h and 180 km/h using just the indicator stalk. The sensor system is able to check whether the next lane is clear in front of, alongside and behind the vehicle, also taking into account the speed of any other approaching vehicle.

Active Emergency Stop Assist
Following no response from the driver with Active Steering Assist engaged over a pre-defined period, the system brakes the vehicle to a standstill in its lane. It begins by giving the driver a visual and audible prompt to place their hands on the wheel. If there is no response after repeated warnings, the car is slowed until it comes to a standstill. At speeds below 60 km/h, the hazard warning lights get activated. At standstill, the parking brake is engaged, the car is unlocked, and the emergency call system is activated. All functions abort should the driver take control again.
