Mercedes-AMG are on a roll, recently launching the GT and GT S, the company now has its goal set to launch the C63 and C63 S models.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 gets a new name, new engines, new technology and sports a new design. Where the design is concerned the C63 shows off a new front bumper with deep air-dams, an AMG front grille, a new bonnet with power domes, wider front wings and ‘V8 BITURBO’ badging. The rear bumper is re-designed to house the quad exhaust pipes and a small wing mounted on the bootlid, which now houses the AMG badge on the left. Inside, the C63 showcases a class aura with the unique AMG steering wheel, contoured seats, re-designed dials and the COMAND touch-screen infotainment system.
Complementing the stylish C63, Mercedes-AMG have introduced their new hand-built engine unit, codenamed the M177, which is the 3,982 cc bi-turbo V8 engine seen in the GT (suspiciously, with an M178 codename, and lower output figures). The M177 is available in two guises: 476 PS / 650 Nm in the standard car and 510 PS / 700 Nm in the S specification. The C63 S clocks the 0-100 km/h sprint in four seconds and goes on to a restricted top speed of 250 km/h, while the C63 takes 4.1 seconds to 100 km/h. Both have a revised 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT, which gives the driver quicker shift times and improved response.
With the new engine which provides better efficiency and more power, and the new design, Mercedes-AMG are ready to take orders for the C63 next month in UK. The new C63 will reach India sometime next year, post the launch of the W205 C-Class.
