Setting the tone for the Auto Expo 2016, Maruti Suzuki unveiled the much teased Vitara Brezza instead of an outright launch

After much teasing of media and consumers alike, Maruti Suzuki finally unveiled their compact sub-4m SUV – the Vitara Brezza. Maruti Suzuki say that the actual commercial launch of the vehicle and price announcement is due in the coming weeks. While we are yet to assess for ourselves whether the company’s claim of the Vitara Brezza combining SUV grace with urban presence, we can tell you that this compact crossover is fairly good looking.
The company has announced that for the moment the Vitara Brezza will be powered by Maruti’s tried and tested FIAT derived 1.3-litre DDiS engine. In their statement Maruti Suzuki have also said that they are working on a petrol powertrain option that they will reveal soon. In a first, the Vitara Brezza will be offered with a driver’s airbag as standard fitment. The option of a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD will be available even on the base variant of the car when it goes on sale.
