Land Rover pays tribute to their most celebrated off-road vehicles – the Defender series, launching three limited edition models at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
To mark the end of the Defender series production, the company has launched three models which showcase Land Rover’s off-road heritage, performance, design, and the thirst for adventure.
The Autobiography Edition focuses on functionality, luxury and comfort. With the use of modern technology and a performance upgrade from 122PS to 150 PS, only 80 models, priced at Rs 59 lakhs will be produced and sold in the UK.
The other model is the Heritage Edition inspired by early Land Rover models. It is a blend of nostalgic design cues with modern comforts – a Grasmere Green paintwork, contrasting white roof, heritage grille, pre-production Land Rover registration plates and HUE 166 graphics, the heritage model will carry forward the company’s rich history. With a starting price of Rs 26 lakh, only 400 models will be manufactured.
The last limited edition model showcased at Geneva was the Adventure Edition. This model embraces the company’s ‘ go anywhere, do anything attitude’. Equipped with under body protection, Goodyear MT/R tyres, leather-trimmed cabin and unique decals, the Adventure model will stand out from the Defender crowd. Priced at Rs 41 lakh, 600 Adventure models will be sold.
