The Swedish supercar manufacturers have just revealed a brand new offering that could realistically vie for the title of ‘fastest car in the world’ – the One:1.
If you’re wondering why it has such a peculiar moniker, well, its a hat-tip from Koenigsegg to what is definitely the car’s stand out feature – its power-to-weight ratio. That’s right, the Koenigsegg have achieved automotive nirvana, the perfect balance between power and weight, the hallowed 1:1 ratio.
The car produces 1341 PS and weighs 1341 Kg, and all this is achieved through a bored out version of the twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 that the Swedish marque uses in its acclaimed Agera series, mated to a chassis that’s made up of a differently weaved carbon-fibre. This means that the One:1 is capable of hitting a top speed of 450 km/h and is able to accelerate from 0-400 km/h in a mind-boggling 20 seconds. Koenigsegg have claimed that this car isn’t just made to go fast in a straight line though, and is extremely track focused, leading us to believe that it will have some serious cornering skills to go with its phenomenal speed.
This stunning piece of machinery will make its official global début at the Geneva Motor Show that’s right around the corner, and only 6 exclusive owners will be able to drive around in the One:1 because that’s just how many of these cars Koenigsegg is manufacturing. What’s more, they’ve already been claimed, so even if you do have the financial means to buy one (it costs a cool Rs 12.4 crore or $2 million), it isn’t available for sale any longer.
We’ll bring you all the details from the car’s Geneva début as it happens, in the meantime here’s a video preview released by Koenigsegg that will surely whet your appetite:
