Jaguar’s C-X17 Concept crossover will be produced as the 2016 F-Pace.

A couple of years ago we published a news piece about the C-X17 concept from Jaguar. It was complete with a carbon fibre bits in the chassis, a bubble tub passenger cabin and hybrid powertrain to match. The concept C-X17 has left the design boards and clay model shops and will now make it to the production line as the F-Pace crossover. Inspired by the F-Type, the F-Pace will be an all-wheel drive crossover that aims to combine the practicality of a 5-seater car with the exteriors and the performance of a sports car. The car will be built at the Solihull facility in UK.

Commenting from Detroit, Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Global Sales Director said, “In 2015 we will celebrate Jaguar’s 80th year. We have started it by announcing our first performance crossover which we consider to be the ultimate practical sports car – a car that builds on the marque’s founding ideals of Grace, Pace and Space to become one of the most innovative Jaguars we’ve ever developed. The F-Pace has now begun its engineering and development testing programme ahead of the new model going on sale in 2016.”
Details about the powertrain and performance figures are still to be revealed, but we can expect an exciting new package from Jaguar for 2016.
