The Renault Kaptur has been spotted testing in India under camouflage alongside the Renault Duster. The car made its worldwide début last year and been spotted doing test runs in India for a few months now.
The Renault Kaptur is the same car as the Captur which is sold in Europe, but it is larger in size to its European counterpart due to Indian roads and the requirements of the Indian consumer.
The styling of the two cars are vaguely similar, but with a few minor differences such as the LED DRL’s and the larger front grille. The dimensions of the Kaptur measures 4,333 mm in length (211 mm longer than the Captur), 1,813 mm in width (35 mm wider), 1,613 mm in height (47 mm taller) and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm. While ground clearance stands at 204 mm.
The powertrain options of the incoming Indian-spec Renault Kaptur are yet to be confirmed, but we expect it to be powered by the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor seen in the vastly popular Renault Duster with similar engine tunes of 85 PS and 110 PS.
