Generation Speed comes from the minds of the creators of India Bike Week (IBW) which has become one of the premier festivals for motorcycling.

The dates of Generation Speed, the new motoring festival celebrating car culture have been announced and the inaugural edition is all set to be held on 22-23 February 2025. Generation Speed is the brainchild of 70 EMG, the same people behind the wildly successful India Bike Week, one of India’s largest motorcycling festivals. The aim for the people behind Generation Speed is to make it the ultimate destination for car enthusiasts across the country. To that effect, they have some ideas which should help break down the divide between the various sub-genres of car culture by providing space for them all to co-exist at a single location, which is precisely what they have done for motorcycles with India Bike Week.

Here’s a brief list of what we can expect, starting with car displays, a category that is full of its own subcategories, which include classic sports cars, discontinued enthusiast production cars of India, race cars, supercars and modified cars. The total turnout is expected to be in the region of 200 four-wheeled pieces of art.

That’s all very well for static displays, but cars are meant to be driven so the dynamic part of the festival will have heart-pounding stunts, drift competitions, autocross races affiliated to FMSCI and even a 4×4 competition. There is going to be a shopping expo as well, which will have the latest gear and gadgets and more importantly for the petrolheads, a dedicated “Tuners Zone” for enthusiasts.

What if someone wants to get behind the wheel themselves? Well, for those people there will be ample opportunities too, including go-karting, dirt karting and adventure trails for two- and four-wheelers. As for the people who want the thrills but lack the skills, there will be drift taxi experiences and race car experiences. If that is still too real, there will be simulators with racing, drifting and MotoGP catered for.

Finally, there will be an adventure zone for adrenaline junkies which is going to have activities like zip lining, rock climbing, paragliding and ATV trail riding, while at the other end of the spectrum is going to be a family pavilion with a kids zone and cosplay events, capped off by DJ and band performances in the evening.
