Ford has recalled 20,752 units of the EcoSport compact crossover to fix issues that may develop in the long term. The company has initiated a Field Service Action to reorient the wiring harness that deploys the side airbags. Another issue that will be addressed is the possible corrosion in the fuel and vapour line. The affected vehicles were produced between January 2013 to September 2014 and the company is contacting customers requesting them to contact the respective dealership in their area to tend to their vehicles.
“The safety of our customers is always top priority at Ford. For their peace of mind, we have initiated a Field Service Action to correct product concerns on 20,752 Ford EcoSport vehicles in India. This is a proactive, voluntary recall action to ensure customers’ safety and satisfaction.” the company said in a statement.
The affected vehicles will be repaired free of cost at the company dealerships across the country.
