The countdown begins – the Paris Motor Show once again shall be the launch pad for the Ferrari 458 Speciale A (‘A’ stands for Aperta, which in Italian means ‘open’).
Ferrari plan to roll out only 499 Speciale A models to celebrate the feat achieved by various versions of the 458, a model which bagged numerous automotive awards and track victories.
The limited edition Speciale A is said to house Ferrari’s most powerful naturally-aspirated road-going 4.5-litre V8 engine. The mean machine will be able to knock out 605 PS and 540 Nm of torque, which will power the beast to a 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds flat, reaching the 200 km/h mark in 9.5 seconds.
The ‘A’ badged-458 Speciale sports an aluminium retractable roof, which is 50 kg lighter and takes only 14 seconds to deploy and retract. Designed as a performance oriented car, the Speciale A comes with a re-worked chassis and suspension along with Side Slip Angle Control, giving the Ferrari a even sportier driving experience. Other highlights include a unique triple layer livery with a central stripe, the 5-spoke wheels and newly designed seats.
Ferrari’s most powerful and aerodynamically efficient 458 yet, the Speciale A is ready for its global debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014.
