Home / Home / Consumer Reports Names Top 10 Most Reliable Car Brands

Toyota_smallConsumer Reports magazine recently released their list of top 10 most reliable car brands from its 2012 Annual Auto Survey. Toyota ruled the podium with their brands Scion, Toyota and Lexus occupying the top 3 positions. Mazda, Subaru, Honda, Acura, Audi, Infiniti and Kia make up the rest of the top 10 (in that order).

Ford was ranked second-last in the 28 brands surveyed, with their luxury brand Lincoln sitting just one spot higher. Reliability problems in some Ford models and their electronic infotainment systems are believed to be the reasons for the decline of the brand, which was a top 10 brand just two years ago.

Consumer Reports’ list of predicted reliability results is very respected in the industry, as it combines survey data from 1.2 million of its readers with hands-on testing conducted by the magazine. The magazine does not accept any advertising and buys all the cars rated by it.
