The road just past the border into Rajasthan is distinctly snakelike, and as we got there, the heaven opened up on us too – ideal settings to see how the Fortuner faired when shown some tight corners. Being a fully-blown SUV you don’t expect the Fortuner to take corners like a sports car, and it doesn’t. It does, however, manage with minimum fuss, allowing you to maintain decent speeds around bendy bits of road as well. Bendy bits now behind us, we soon arrived in Udaipur, and after witnessing the majesty of the Lake Palace by night, we packed it in for the day.
The following day, we headed off to Jaipur. The stretch of the G-Quad connecting these two cities is fraught with diversions, and state highways are preferable to cover this route instead. Jaipur was bustling as we arrived at noon time, and after a quick nip into the Pink City proper and the Hawa Mahal, along with a few stops along the way at the Jal Mahal and Amer Fort, we headed off towards Gurgaon. Manoeuvring past the traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, we arrived to greetings of traffic clogs in the NCR and called it a day once we reached our hotel in Gurgaon.
