To be launched at the 2010 Auto Expo in Delhi
If you thought General Motors’ future in India is bleak, take a hike. Chevrolet is all set to make a huge dent in the Indian car segment with two very important cars in the coming few months. We shared the pictures of the Cruze under testing with our readers some months back. The guys at a leading automotive portal, www.carwale.com managed to pull off a great scoop recently with these pictures. The next generation Spark, based on the company’s M300 platform is undergoing rigorous testing in certain parts of the country.
From the pictures it is pretty evident that the car that will come to India has a lot of resemblance to the Beat concept that was shown at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Of course as is the case with most production cars, Chevy seems to have toned down the aggressive lines of the Beat concept considerably. Nevertheless, the design angles look great and the car seems to have retained the cute rear end from the current Spark. The new Chevy will come powered with an option of a petrol as well as a diesel motor. We believe Chevrolet will launch the car at the upcoming Auto Expo in Jan ’10 in New Delhi.
