BMW India have given responsible luxury a boost with the launch of the ActiveHybrid 7.
Like the rest of the range, the ActiveHybrid 7 is offered with a long wheelbase and boasts an advanced driveline with a not-so-obscene price tag, at least when compared to the other models and it’s competition from the same pricing plane.
Providing motive force is a hybrid driveline consisting of the 2,979cc TwinPower Turbo straight-six petrol from the now defunct 740Li with its 320 PS and 450 Nm of torque. An electric-motor assist function adds to the net output, resulting in a peakĀ combined system outputĀ of 354 PS and 500 Nm of torque – more than sufficient for this high-end luxury car weighing a shade over two tonnes. The equipment list is similar to that of the 750Li petrol model, complete with the iDrive media infotainment system and 19″ wheels. Nothing on the outside or the inside, apart from subtle details tell of its hybrid heart.
The ActiveHybrid 7L has been priced at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available at all BMW dealerships around the country. It joins a prestigious range of the 730Ld straight-six turbo-diesel, the 750Li twin-turbo V8 petrol and the flagship 760Li twin-turbo V12 petrol.
