The new BMW 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder aims to keep the momentum going after the 8 made a strong return to the grand touring segment.
With its fascinating performance being a striking quality of the 8 Series, the Bavarian sport-luxury flagship has been enhanced. The new 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder gets specific design accents in gold with a selection high-end BMW Individual equipment features for the exterior and interior that further the blend of sporty flair and luxury.
The new BMW 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder demonstrates once again the capacity of BMW Individual to turn special vehicles into unique automobiles for customers with the very highest expectations in terms of style and quality. The exclusive exterior design and interior features add unmistakable touches that give the Edition models the character of a custom-built vehicle.
The 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder is available for all model variants – Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé – from the BMW 840i and the BMW 840d xDrive to the BMW M850i xDrive. The Edition vehicles will be produced at the BMW plant in Dingolfing starting from September this year. The M Sport package is always a standard feature in these special edition vehicles.
A body finished in Sapphire Black metallic or Frozen Black metallic is joined by carefully selected colour accents in gold to underscore the athleticism of the sport-luxury automobiles. The dark look is furthered by BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features and black brake calipers for the M Sport braking system. A striking contrast is created by golden lines running from the front apron to the side skirts and into the rear apron. Also finished in gold are the exterior mirror covers, the M rear spoiler – exclusively for the Coupé, and the 20-inch M light alloy wheels in double-spoke design.
The interior of the 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder sees flair and individual luxury combined in the interior for an enhanced ambience. There is extensive BMW Individual Merino leather trim in black with the “Edition Golden Thunder” inscription embroidered on the front headrests and the BMW Individual Alcantara Anthracite roof liner for the hard-top Coupé and Gran Coupé. The interior trim finishers are in Aluminium Mesh Effect Gold. On the centre console, the finely structured and high-end shimmering surfaces are supplemented with an Edition emblem. The Edition models also feature “CraftedClarity” glass applications for selected controls and a high-end Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.
The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé and the high-performance M8 Coupé were recently introduced in India.
