Japanese auto giants Honda have unveiled three new products at the Auto Expo 2018. including the second-generation Amaze, fifth-generation CR-V, and the 10th-generation Civic, which is set to make its return.
Honda have been growing in India and, to accentuate their success, the automaker have unveiled the new second-generation Amaze, marking its global debut, at the Auto Expo. The new Amaze is built on an all-new platform incorporating more advanced research and development. The car has a bolder design compared to its predecessor, a more spacious interior, a more refined powertrain, and even more technology and features. The new Amaze will be introduced in the market in the following fiscal.
The new Honda CR-V has also made its Indian debut, being a hugely popular car in the global market. While it boasts of a bunch of design changes and added features, the biggest changes are the introduction of a diesel powertrain for India, and the addition of a third-row seating option. These new aspects should help strengthen the new CR-V’s position in a market where it was consistently selling, albeit in low numbers with just petrol engines on offer.
Another big unveil from Honda is the Civic. A largely popular car among young and keen drivers thanks to its good looks, performance and features, the Civic is currently Honda’s oldest running nameplate and is their highest-selling model globally.
Honda also showcased a host of concept vehicles such as the Sports EV Concept, which uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to provide a sense of unity with the car. The second concept, the NeuV, is being built to further enhance automated driving technology and AI. The car will also judge the driver’s state of mind and support safe driving. Another important model at the Expo was the Clarity Fuel Cell. The Clarity is the brand’s most advanced zero-emission vehicle. Powered by a hydrogen fuel-cell, the Clarity is the pinnacle of Honda’s electrified vehicle technology.
