New Audi TTS 2014 1

German automotive marque Audi have been manufacturing the TT for over a decade now, and for the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, they took the covers off an all-new version of this popular sportscar. The new TT and its sports sibling – the TTS are built along the lines of the same design language as seen on the Quattro, including the the signature square headlamps that have become a mainstay in the newer Audis. The new TT is also built out of lighter materials, meaning it has shed an impressive 50 kg over its predecessor, making it that much faster and more efficient.

Inside the cabin, along with redesigned interiors and a voice controlled command console comes Audi’s new virtual cockpit. This virtual cockpit has, in effect, eliminated the need for analogue dials, replacing them with a 12.3” TFT display powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 graphics. The virtual cockpit is customizable too, allowing you to choose whether it displays the speedometer and the RPM meter only, or readjusts the size of these dials to show you additional information like the navigation system.

The new TT will feature a similar 2.0-litre four cylinder turbocharged direct injection engine available in both petrol and diesel options, with the engine capable of making anywhere between 184-310 PS depending upon the variant. The top of the line TTS, mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive will do 0-100 km/h in 4.7 secs and will achieve a top speed of 250 km/h. This is largely thanks to the TFSI powerplant which produces 380 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 5,500 RPM.

Further details such as the price and launch date are as yet undisclosed, but we’ll bring you the latest updates as soon as we get them, so watch this space.
