The best selling compact car by Mercedes-Benz, the B-Class has been re-incarnated, in terms of both technology and design.

The compact sport tourer has sold more than 350,000 units since its debut in 2011and to further strengthen its market share, Mercedes have introduced the all-new second-generation B-Class, with major upgrades to its interior, exterior and equipment lines.
Talking about the exterior changes, the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class sports a new front bumper, LED High-Performance headlamps with DRLs and a wide radiator trim along with two louvres sum up the front façade of the new B-Class. At the rear end, the B-class gets a modified bumper with a chrome strip and tail-lamps with LED technology, giving the vehicle a more prominent look.

The interiors of the new B-Class give it a more exclusive and up-market feel, with a large 8” touchscreen display unit, a stylish dial layout for the instrument cluster and choice of 12 colors for the ambient lighting inside the cabin. The other features adding to its exclusivity include Keyless-Go, Collision Prevention Assist Plus – which features autonomous partial braking and an upgraded Mercedes Connect Me COMAND system.

The new B-Class will come with a varied choice of engines- two petrol engines, four diesel engines and one alternate drive system variant, including the familiar B 180 and B 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY editions. The B-Class will also feature an all-wheel drive variant- the B 200 CDI 4MATIC. The company plans to commence sales by September 12 while deliveries should begin by November. The pricing has not yet been revealed, but it should start from approximately Rs 22 lakhs for the B 180 with the manual transmission.

Commenting on the new B-Class, Ola Kallenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz stated “The B-Class is the perfect family car for anyone who attaches importance to practicality, comfort and safety, but at the same time does not want to miss out on sportiness or driving dynamics”.
