The Pagani Zonda is a formidable creation in the automotive scene. True, there have been several versions, but they’re still too few and far too exclusive. From the C12 S to the F Clubsport and then the 764 Passione and the Revolucion, the Zonda has captured several hearts and set records which had eyes popping, none more so than this.
The Zonda R, with its 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated AMG V12 racing engine (from the CLK GTR, no less!) puts out in the realm of 800 PS and hits 0-100 in less than 2.7 seconds. It’s not about being fast, it’s about being quick. Reaching 400 km/h when you have kilometres of runway is great, but getting to 200 in a matter of seconds and then being able to hold 200+ km/h through a corner, is even better. This isn’t about top speed, this is about consistent speed and lightning-quick agility. So, get comfy in your chair and turn up the volume on those speakers, because Pagani Automobili will keep you thoroughly entertained with your senses on edge for the next 7 minutes. Oh, and the R did this back in 2010 – that’s five years ago.
