Move over Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and Bugattis, there is a new player in town, one which takes the term über-luxury literally to the next level. Car India takes you on a tour aboard the world’s most expensive motorhome, Marchi Mobile’s eleMMent palazzo RV, a veritable mansion on wheels
The rich and famous have always been fascinated by ultra-luxury and super exclusivity. Renowned Austrian coach-builders, Marchi Mobile, have launched their high-end eleMMent RV series and their flagship RV, the eleMMent palazzo, officially known as the world’s most expensive RV (recreational vehicle) with a eye-popping price-tag of approximately $ 3 million.
The overall concept and design of the eleMMent palazzo is to offer the buyer a mansion on wheels and to provide its occupants the very best of luxury and comfort while on the road. The series comes in three, fully configurable variants and offers everything you’ll never need on the road, including automatic boarding stairs, a fly-bridge and an operational fireplace.
The eleMMent palazzo has been partially based on a 2001 design by the acclaimed automotive designer, Professor Luigi Colani, but the RV has been built under the guidance and watchful eyes of Marchi Mobile CEO Mario Marchi and Chief Designer Jens Scheiwe.
So let us take a good look at all the features of the eleMMent palazzo. This state-of-the-art motorhome rests on a DAF XF 105 track chassis. At first sight you are greeted by a humongous oval windscreen, which reminds you of a sci-fi spaceship’s cockpit from the ‘Star Trek’ series. Unlike standard RVs, the eleMMent palazzo’s aerodynamic front-end draws inspiration from supercars and incorporates Marchi Mobile Go Green technology, which helps in achieving up to 20 per cent reduction in fuel consumption. The eleMMent palazzo is completely insulated and provides superior noise isolation for effortless use all the year round.
This palace on wheels is powered by a turbo-charged diesel engine, producing roughly 530 PS of power, and it rides on designer wheels. The RV includes a rear diffuser, made of carbon-fibre, while it also sports a double tube sport exhaust and rides on a 28-inch front axle. The eleMMent palazzo has 30 square feet of usable and 20 sq ft of roof terrace area, totalling 50 sq/ft, and the RV is 12 metres in length and weighs approximately 20 tonnes.
The real deal why the eleMMent palazzo is such a big hit among the wealthy businessmen and oil-producing Middle-Eastern Sheikhs is all due to the RV’s interior, which will leave even the richest aristocrat highly impressed by its luxury elements. The space-age eleMMent palazzo comes complete with a colossal master bedroom, a 40-inch television set, on-board bar, fireplace and, as mentioned earlier, even its own rooftop terrace. It also boasts of a complete automatic control unit, a high-end multi-media system and real stream video surveillance (mobile
user panel) to control all functions from outside the RV. However, the most impressive piece of luxury is the ‘Sky Lounge’: at the press of a button this 50-sq-ft home transforms into a personal retreat with a pop-up cocktail bar, under-floor heating and extravagant marble lighting. The Sky Lounge comes integrated with floor heating, water fog and ice-maker systems. It also has its own roof-top bar.
The eleMMent palazzo can be customised in accordance with the buyer’s needs and the buyer also gets to incorporate his own design elements.
Marchi Mobile’s eleMMent palazzo has certainly changed the game of travelling in luxury and is certainly one big head-turner wherever it goes; truly a mansion on wheels.
