Porsche India have introduced the 2015 GTS models for both the Boxster and Cayman.
Priced higher than their S counterparts by Rs 12.76 lakh, the Boxster GTS is available for Rs 1.13 crore while the Cayman GTS bears a Rs 1.15 crore tag. Visually, the GTS twins look almost identical, save for a few styling tweaks like the black lettering on the boot. Under the skin however, it’s all different.
The 3.4-litre six-cylinder Boxer engine in each of them has been uprated to produce 15 more horses. This 15-PS increase over the S models gives the Boxster GTS 330 PS, with the Cayman GTS now sporting 340 PS. The resultant performance increase: 0.1 seconds faster to 100 km/h and two clicks more top speed – 5.0 seconds and 281 km/h for the Boxster GTS and 4.9 seconds and 285 km/h for the Cayman.
Porsche Active Suspension Management is also standard. Fuel consumption too isn’t all to bad either, matching some entry-level petrol sedans – a very credible 12.2 km/l on the combined cycle.
