The upgraded Toyota Yaris boasts of new premium features and has been redesigned to deliver more comfort.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors call their new upgrade ‘The Happenin’ New Yaris’. It has been built on Toyota’s renowned philosophy of QDR (Quality, Durability & Reliability) which the Japanese brand claims, has made it more spacious, luxurious and comfortable. It will be available only with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 107 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of peak torque at 4,200 rpm. The engine is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

The Toyota Yaris will be offered in Four Trim levels that will include a total of 14 variants. All the trims will be available with an option of either a manual transmission or a CVT option. Features on the new Toyota Yaris include a dual-tone colour scheme, glossy black finish on the grille and OVRM’s, a premium leatherette seat and a centre console box. The higher variants will sport leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob and diamond-cut alloy wheels. There will be an option of six new exterior colours for the Yaris – Wildfire Red, Phantom Brown, Pearl White, Super White, Silver & Grey.

On the safety front, the Yaris is packed with all the necessary features. There will be an option of seven-airbags or three-airbags depending on the need of the customer. Standard safety features include driver and passenger seat belt reminder, Hill Start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Front & Rear Parking Sensors and a high-speed alert warning.

The new Yaris is built on the Toyota philosophy of QDR offering options of three or seven airbags for customers to choose from based on individual needs and preferences while retaining their aspirations for more advanced features, safety, space, luxury, style and comfort. The low cost of ownership, low NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels, better rear comfort with Toyota’s unique sales and service efficiency makes the ownership experience of the new improved Yaris more desirable.

The new Toyota Yaris is being offered for a starting price of Rs 8.65 lakh, making it Rs 10,000 cheaper than the previous model. The highest variant is of the new Yaris is priced the same as before at Rs 14.07 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
