Three new cars are ready to scorch local streets by June; Cruze follows in September
Honda Jazz
The Jazz was officially confirmed by Honda during the launch of the Accord V6. The car will make its commercial debut early this month with two engine choices: a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre mill. Pricing will be between the Rs 5-7.5 lakh bracket. The Jazz will give tough competition to the successfully running Skoda Fabia
FIAT Grande Punto
The Grande Punto has created quite a stir, especially with the test mules doing the rounds publicly. The car’s final testing procedures are over and FIAT’s Ranjangaon plant is now ready for full swing production. Expect the car to hit showrooms by the end of this month.
Chevrolet Cruze
We have the spy pictures of a camouflaged Cruze being tested around Pune for its final ARAI runs. Expect the car to be ready for a commercial launch by September with sales commencing almost immediately. Doing duty under its hood will be tuned variants of the 1.8-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines from the current Optra.
Maruti Suzuki Ritz
Maruti Suzuki will expand its small car portfolio this month with the Splash. For India though, the hatch will be rechristened as the Ritz and will house an all-new 1.2-litre K12M motor recently unveiled by Suzuki. The Ritz will compliment the Swift and will be priced in a similar range as the supermini.
