Smaller engine may make it Honda City’s competitor
Toyota are ready with the 2011 Corolla sedan for India, which will feature mild re-designing such as a fresh front bumper, a larger front grille and new tail-lamps.
The Japanese car company has recently launched the much hyped Etios sedan in India, which has been well received, and hopes to keep the bigger Altis fresh with these minor upgrades. The new-look Altis should hit the Indian market latest by April 2011.
The Corolla Altis might be launched with a smaller 1.6-litre 121 PS petrol motor along with the currently available 1.8-litre petrol and the 1.4-litre diesel engines. The smaller engine would help Toyota slash the price of the sedan and it would then be in direct competition with the Honda City.
