If you look at the cabin, the engineers have successfully managed to create a sense of intimacy for each of the occupants. The seats offer excellent comfort and the soft headrests are a brilliant touch. All the four seats are electrically adjustable and are ventilated; however, only the rear ones get goodies from the top shelves like six different massage options, including the new hot stone massage. Unlike in America and Europe, where many S-Class owners like to drive themselves, buyers in our continent prefer to sit back and spend the road time to generate more money, and that’s why a lot of focus has been given to the rear half of the cabin.
The large console between the two rear passengers doubles up like an arm-rest and stows two foldable tables, along with a high-end remote for the rear-seat entertainment system and headphones. There are two tablet-like displays which can be used for a wide variety of functions, from playing DVDs to adjusting the car’s comfort settings. You can also connect your phone and other devices to the internet through the car’s WLAN-Hotspot. More convenience is at hand as iOS and Android device users can download the Mercedes-Benz Touch App and can control various functions on the S-Class through their devices. The only complaint I have is that the centre arm-rest should have had climate control buttons like its competition.
The S-Class comes with Chauffeur Package as standard wherein the rear passenger, sitting diagonally opposite the driver, can bundle the front seat ahead to create more room and stretch out to rest his/her legs on a footrest that slides out from beneath the front passenger seat. It’s an intricately crafted cabin, which is roomy and comes with such high standard of insulation that it almost segregates you from the rest of the world. The S-Class makes you feel well isolated with a feeling of complete protection. For a limousine the S-Class is a discreet machine, and gives the occupants privacy that people of such stature demand.
