Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably have heard about the feature film based on the popular Need For Speed gaming franchise that’s in the works. It’s coming out in March 2014, and for those who can’t wait that long and want to see what the movie’s about right now, the full trailer has been released. Watch it here:
The movie stars Breaking Bad’s Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in the lead role, and is chock full of cross-country, street racing action, exploding supercars, and high-adrenaline stunt work.
The highlight of the film though is the ‘other’ line-up of stars and the one we’re more interested in seeing – the cars themselves. Playing the hero is a specially designed Shelby GT500 Inspired Mustang developed by Ford only for this movie, and powered by a supercharged V8 mill. Need For Speed will also play host to plenty of other hypercars such as the new McLaren P1, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Lamborghini Aventador and Sesto Elemento, the Hennessey Venom GT, the Nissan GTR, and the Konigsegg Agera and Agera R.
It promises to be an absolute carnival for those of the petrol head persuasion, and the fans of the original video game series will be hoping that this silver screen spin off will also prove to be as entertaining as the original lineage of games has been over the past decade and more.
