German car makers, Porsche, have officially announced that they would be revealing their 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S versions at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
The Carrera 4 and 4S will be offered in both coupe and cabriolet avatar with an all new 3.8L rear mounted engine which is capable of producing 349 PS for the 4 and 399 PS for the 4S respectively. The new Porsches are also lighter and much more sharper visually, with a streamlined body which has reduced the weight of the Carrera by 65Kgs. Also the fuel consumption has been reduced to approx 16%. The new 911 Carrera 4 is seen with wider rear wheel arches on either side with a small red strip between taillights so as to separate itself from the 4S. Both are offered in a choice of two seven speed transmissions and standard manual or optional PDK double clutch gearboxes. It is capable of reaching a top speed of 284 kmph for the 4S and 281 kmph. Porsche has decided to introduce both the models in the European market and then would eventually introduce it globally.
