The R2 Skoda Fabia rally car has a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine, 16V, 180PS at 7,500 rpm and develops 194Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm speed. The engine of the Skoda Fabia Sadev R2 is coupled to a five-speed gearbox, which sends the power to the front wheels. Skoda did not release many details on the new Fabia Rally Racer R2, but they say it comes with the Magneti Marelli engine management functions. In principle, the Fabia R2 is based on the series model of the popular small car, but there are significant differences in its engine, undercarriage and gearbox. Compared to the series model, the undercarriage was changed considerably and the axle kinematics was adapted for its application in motor sports. These amendments were developed in collaboration with Impromat Skoda car. The Skoda Fabia R2, already homologated by the FIA, will be priced around Rs. 40 lakh in Europe.
