It won’t be long now till the acclaimed Jaguar F-Type Convertible finally has a coupé sibling.
Ahead of its big, worldwide reveal at the Los Angeles auto show on the 19th of November, Jaguar have deigned to give the automotive world a first look of its latest hardtop warrior.
Jaguar are building up to what they claim will be an over-the-top event at the launch in LA. Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, spoke about what to expect from this momentous occasion, he said, “The excitement generated when we revealed the C-X16 concept was terrific; so to now be on the cusp of what I can assure you will be a drama-filled reveal event in Los Angeles for F-Type Coupé is a very significant moment.”
He also expounded on the fresh design inspired by the C-X16 Concept in this new car, “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to F-Type Convertible, but for me the purity of creating a sports Coupé is a uniquely satisfying process – and I know that both visually and dynamically, F-Type Coupé raises the bar yet again.”
This aluminium wrapped supercar will feature the same engine options as its convertible predecessor, so expect the two supercharged 3.0-litre V6 options producing 340 and 380 PS, and the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that puts out 495 PS of power. There’s also a rumour doing the rounds however, that the Coupé will have an additional engine option In the form of the 2.0-litre turbocharged-four power-plant from the Range Rover Evoque, albeit with 280 PS. We’ll have confirmation of this and more detailed specifications post-launch on the 19th of this month, so stay tuned!
