The M3 M4 Coupé
The name change game for the M3 Coupé, now known as the M4 Coupé, is not a new one. BMW have been planning to do so for a long time, but the craze of the M3 name and the fan following has not withered yet. So the sedan retains the M3 tag, but the coupé and convertible get the M4 tag. Anyway, changing the coupé’s name to M4 has not really changed anything for the new car. The M4 is essentially an M3 in sportswear. The coupé roofline and body style and the slightly wider track are the only differences between the two cars.
The M4 Coupé comes with the same equipment and the same 3.0-litre straight six motor and seven-speed DCT box that serve the M3.And just like everything underneath that coupé body, the performance of the M4 is also identical to the M3’s. It combines all the great features of the M3, but with styling that will definitely turn heads. I drove the M4 on the track and on the road and was equally impressed by it. Excellent power delivery along with slick DCT box and that amazing Active M Differential make both the cars a treat to drive. The steering, brakes, super sticky Michelins and the stiff suspension boost your confidence on twisty mountain roads to an extent where an ear-to-ear smile is plastered on your face for at least an hour after exiting the twisties.
The M4 is just as good as the M3 and it will also come to India at a similar price tag of Rs 1.1-1.2 crore (ex-showroom). So with the M4 you will have the option of buying all the performance of the M3 but with a body that will make you look 10 years younger.
