New SUVs to go on sale in India after M&M take over Korean company
Mahindra & Mahindra, after the tie-up with Ssangyong a few months ago, have finally declared the models that they will bring into India to start with.
The two SUVs the company plans to offer initially are the Kornado and Rexton. These SUVs will be in the same segment as the Chevrolet Captiva, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner et al.
We expect these SUVs to make their entry into the Indian market by mid-2011 considering that the takeover of Ssangyong by M&M is going to take at least two more months. While these are completely developed by Ssangyong, M&M’s plans of developing a new SUV in collaboration with the Korean manufacturer are still on.
