Mercedes are adding a Coupé to their C-Class line-up, which is expected to arrive by December this year.
Looking at the pictures, the C-Class Coupé cuts a fine figure on the road, with its sporty and athletic styling on the exterior as well as the interior.
The new C Coupé features a host of equipment as standard, along with the AMG Line as an optional package, to further enhance the dynamism of the car. The AMG exterior package includes special bumpers, a diamond radiator-grille with pins in chrome, and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.
The interior gets a multi-functional sports steering wheel, AMG sport pedals and upholstery. The new C-Class Coupé will also sport various safety and assistance systems based on the company’s Intelligent Drive concept. These include AttentionAssist, Collision Prevention Assist, Adaptive Brake Assist, and Park Assist. Overseas, the Distronic+ Adaptive Cruise Control now also features Steering Assist and Stop-Go Pilot.
Under the hood, the C-Class Coupé will get Mercedes’ powerful and efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines include the 1.6-litre unit in the C 180 guise making 156 PS, and the 2.0-litre unit in the C 200, C 250 and C 300 making 184 PS, 211 PS and 245 PS respectively. The two diesel models – the C 220 d and C250 d – will be equipped with the same 2,143-cc, four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit, developing either 170 PS or 204 PS. The two diesel motors now feature an evolved Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Thomas Weber, member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG says,”Our new C-Class Coupé continues the philosophy of our exciting coupés. It combines thrilling design with agile sportiness and modern luxury. The C-Class Coupé therefore clearly pledges itself to stylish driving enjoyment.”
